Workshop pictures

Mavis,

I just love your little designs.I know that some of the designs in the workshop arn't 100% authentic Peruvian but I think that they make a nice little diversion.

  1. Thank you Sylvia, I had fun with the flower and emu which I tried to adapt from a mexican beltweave design and found it very tricky hence the knobbly legs on the emu. My owl design didn't make it so I was pleased you published your owl design, I will have another try. Enjoying the workshop.

  2. It was fun weaving this band although I didn’t find the result very attractive. Perhaps it should be called ‘mock Peruvian pick-up’ as it doesn’t look like any real Peruvian narrow bands. Peruvian pebbles always have 2 threads, not one. I wondered if it was possible to weave a more authentic pebble weave on the loom, and find it is, with 2 shafts, 2 flat sticks and one pointed picking stick – unlike the Peruvians I didn’t use a lama bone!
